GREENLIGHT FINANCIAL SERVICES BRIGHTENS EL MODENA

(Irvine, CA) − January/February 2006, − Greenlight Financial Services decided to brighten up the Holiday for local needy families. They asked CAPOC staff, Sarah Obana what Greenlight Financial could do to help. Sarah replied, "why don't you brighten up El Modena with lights?" And so during the month of December, the streets of El Modena were lit with beautiful green lights decorated throughout the community and at the El Modena Family Resource Center.

Children from the El Modena Family Resource Center decorated the Center and neighborhood with holiday lights while volunteer mothers from the community were busy in the community center's kitchen preparing hot chocolate and desseft for the block party.
Community residentshared the holiday spirit with elected officials, City and County staff, and event sponsor Greenlight Financial Services, The party culminated with a Mariachi band from the El Mariachi restaurant and carolers from the youth programsinging Christmas songs before introducing Community Action Partnership of Orange County (CAPOC) Board Member and representative for Congresswomen Loretta Sanchez, Robeft Banuelos; Orange County Supervisor Chairman Bill Campbell; Mayor for the City of Orange Mark Murphy; and Greenlight Financial Services President Joe Bentizegna. Mr. Bentizegna presented a donation in the amount of $1,000 to Alan Woo CAPOC Director of Planning and Program Development (pictured right), to support the programs at the El Modena Family Resource Center. Dolores Barrett CAPOC Director for the community center was delighted to see the community and families gathered together.

"The programs at the center have been vital in preparing children and youths for successful academic and healthy futures," said Ms. Barrett The festive night was complete when the guest of honor, Santa Claus, arrived in a bright red fire engine with sirens blaring. Five hundred children's faces all lit up when they were given stuffed animals by santa and two young elves.
